Hi, thanks for stopping by! I hope those of you in the northern hemisphere are finding ways to keep cool, because it is HOT, HOT, HOT right now and not just here in Florida! It’s a good excuse for staying in and stamping 😉 Today I have a couple of cards to share. The first one is my second go with the Blossoms in Bloom set (see my last post), but this time I skipped the wide diecut:

I stamped the flowers on white cardstock, after first taping off one of the five flowers while inking. Don’t forget to remove the tape before you stamp! I used Highland Heather ink and cardstock, except for the sentiment, where I used the darker Gorgeous Grape- I just thought it looked better. Once I had the floral image, I ran it through my diecut machine with the thin outline die, and then did the same with a piece of Highland Heather cardstock. I adhered the purple flower outline to a piece of white cardstock, and then I filled in the flowers with “puzzle pieces” from the stamped version. (HINT: after cutting the stamped image, carefully remove from your machine so that it remains in one piece. This makes it easy to see which piece belongs where.) You only need a tiny bit of glue for each one. I ran the completed image through the diecut/embossing machine in the Subtle embossing folder- hard to see in the photo, but totally worth it- then glued it to a card base. The sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, was backed by a matching piece of cardstock.

Next I used the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle, with Pretty Peacock, one of the 2019-2021 In Colors, for ink and cardstock, foil for the diecut, and the gorgeous reversible ribbon with Pretty Peacock and Old Olive. I sponged on the ink in a circular motion, a bit larger than the diecut flower, letting it fade out toward the edge, and splattered some ink using my Water Painter and inkpad. I glued down the flower center, and raised the flower on dimensional dots. I did my “faux knot” by adhering a short piece of ribbon to the back of the panel with glue dots, then tying another short piece around the front to make a “knot”, and stamped the sentiment directly on the card front. This was cut down to 5 inches by 4 and 1/4 inches, and was glued to the card base with two 1/4 inch strips of Pretty Peacock cardstock. I used Butterfly Gems to finish.
These bundles are so versatile, I could spend days only using them – you can expect to see them again! Supplies are listed below and link to my store. Thanks for you support of my small business!
Happy Stamping!
