One of the things we card makers sometimes forget is that you don’t need all the fancy tools and dies to make a beautiful card. This one uses paper, stamps and ink.
I used Stampin’Up!’s Very Versailles stamp set. The card base is 8.5x 5.5 inches, folded in half in Mint Macaron. I cut two pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4x 5.25 inches, one for the card front and one for inside. First I stamped the sentiment in Petal Pink on a piece of Very Vanilla, cut it to size and cut a matte in Petal Pink that was about a quarter inch longer and wider. Then, I used the “writing” stamp in Petal Pink, stamped off (meaning stamped on scrap paper before stamping on the card) once each time, to stamp the front of the card three times- upper left, lower left, and middle right, making sure it hung off the edge of the card. The I used the frame and bar stamps in Soft Suede ink, stamping off once each time and positioned them as shown. Finally, the leaves were stamped full strength, twice at almost full length and a third time up toward the top. Don’t forget to decorate the inside! Attach the sentiment and you’re done making a beautiful “vintage” card.
