Happy New Year!!!

It’s always such a hopeful time of year, isn’t it?  If the last year wasn’t so grand, we can always have hope that the next year will be better- and if last year was the best ever, we can hope that this one will top it! Either way, it’s usually a time when we count our blessings and thank those who have helped us get this far.  The card below is one of many thank you cards I’ll be making and sending in the near future:

I love butterflies, and I thought the colors on this were so bright and cheery!  It came together 1-2-3, with a solid matte, split gingham and white background, and the diecut thinlits on top- at a little angle, so it looks like they are flying off the card.  I heat embossed the sentiment and added a few sequins, and voila! A happy little thank you card.

The thinlits (Butterfly Beauty) and Gingham Gala paper are from the new Stampin’ Up! Occassions catalog which will go online January 3rd.  The thinlits coordinate with a lovely stamp set that has a friendship theme, along with bokeh dots, a floral flourish, and some small butterfly stamps.  I only used one layer for the butterflies, but the thinlit set has two that superimposed to allow use of two different colors- as well as a number of smaller dies.

Also, if you love butterflies, you are going to want to check out the Occasions catalog for the Butterly Gala stamp set and punch.  You can go butterfly crazy!  If you aren’t into butterflies, you’ll find lots of other things to catch your eye- valentines, florals, kid stuff, Easter stamps.  It really is a lovely catalog, and during Sale-A-Bration (Jan 3 through March 31) you can earn free stamp sets, designer paper and thinlits for every $50 (US) you spend.

Other items used in the card include Whisper White and Grapefruit Grove cardstock, black embossing ink with clear embossing powder, and the Iridescent Sequin Assortment. The sentiment came from the Simply Wonderful stamps from last year’s Sale-A-Bration.

I want to wish you all a Happy New Year from my home to yours, and I am HOPEFUL that 2019 will be filled with good friends, family, and lots of gratitude.

Happy stamping!

Michelle
